The Power of Persistence

My name is Bill, and I have always wanted to be the person with the before and after pictures. I can’t believe I finally accomplished a worthy transformation this.  Like so many people, getting leaner and healthier is something I have tried to do many times before; I entered the Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle challenge four times and dropped out every time. The 5th time, I not only finished the challenge and reached my goal (I lost 34 pounds in 3 1/2 months),  I’m also confident that now I have all the tools to continue on this journey, and make these changes last a lifetime.

How a 43-Year-Old Mom Burned 30 Pounds of Fat In 98 Days

I have read so many Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle success story articles since I originally became a member, that I’m amazed I’m now adding to them myself. After winning the Burn the Fat Challenge, and especially now that spring is here and I’m not hidden under layers of clothing, I get asked, “How did you do it?” quite a bit. I get the impression that most people want a simple answer like “no carbs” or “cut out all sugar”, but I tell them for me reading Tom Venuto’s Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle carefully and paying close attention to the mental training and goal setting in chapter 6 of the book are what made all the difference. It really does work!

I flipped open my Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle (BFFM) book and looked through it yet again. Looking back, it’s one of the few fat loss and nutrition books that I’ve kept on my bookshelf as I moved from place to place. But the truth is, it took me a while to take action on its contents. I guess I’ve always been an expert at reading and thinking, but not so much when it came to acting. Sure, the whole program made sense, I said to myself, but maybe it was just too complicated, or I wouldn’t be able to fit it in my schedule or I’d never be organized to actually follow through with something like this.

Fat Loss Tips For Men Age 50+

The 52-year old guy in the e-mail exclaimed: “SHOW ME SOMEONE MY AGE!” All I was trying to do was motivate and inspire my readers by showing them some before and after success stories. But it was almost like this guy was mad at me because the examples I displayed were age 20-something to 30-something. Afterward, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I was trying to figure out whether he had some deep-rooted self-limiting belief that it’s impossible to get in shape after a certain age, or whether he was positive and open-minded and simply looking for tips for older men to burn fat.   I figured maybe a little of both, and I thought I’d post my response on the blog because I think I can help and I’m sure there are lots of other men who would like to know this too…
